Submission to Council

I wish to support to the Oakleigh Pool Redevelopment Committee in thier wish to retain and refurbish the Oakleigh Pool’its diving tower, 50 metre pool, learners’ pool and toddler pool. Also to request that the 50 m and learners’ pools should be heated.

On a personal need level, I am currently having therapeutic hydrotherapy and would benefit from continuation of long-term swimming. I need a heated pool as I cannot tolerate cold water. I am currently having to drive 10 km to the Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre which takes up to 30 minutes each way. I would benefit from having a pool which is closer to my home in Oakleigh South.

I also have grandchildren who live locally, so my family would benefit from the reopening of the pool site with an improved facility.
