The gallery was packed with supporters toting blue ribbons in support of the pool, and re-iterating the support the entire community has for the pool.
The recommendation, which grew out of the consultation report, included most of the features that CLAG and the Monash community have been asking for, in particular:
- a refurbished 50 metre outdoor heated pool
- a new shallow leisure pool and water play facility
- family and general change rooms
- a refurbished dive pool
- improved kiosk facilities
- a new outdoor spa
- new water treatment and associated infrastructure
- water conservation and recovery system

The councillors voted unanimously in support of the motion, with many praising the design and recognising the level of community consultation undertaken to make the final decision.
CLAG commends Council for taking the decision to refurbish the pool and support this valuable community asset. In addition, we’d like to thank Council for working with us, even during the more heated discussions and public meetings, and providing the community with the opportunity to get involved in the decision making process.
