The Oakleigh Festival

The Oakleigh Festival is on the 18th of March at Warrawee Park from noon to 6 PM. Here are some good reasons why you should go:

  1. CLAG will have a stall with a wonderful display of the pool’s history including letters from the children who did the bulk of the fund raising for the pool, old newspaper articles and plenty of photographs. Great PR for the pool!
  2. The last SpeakOut and your last opportunity to participate in Monash Council's formal consultation process on the pool redevelopment will be at the Festival.
  3. To help the Save the Pool campaign by handing out leaflets urging people to attend the SpeakOut and to get signatures on another petition to Monash councillors that CLAG is starting, this time asking for the diving pool, 50 metre pool and pools for young children and toddlers. We need to get thousands and thousands of signatures on this petition and it needs to be presented to Council before May, when a decision on the pool is expected. We need to really keep the pressure on councillors until May, especially after the fairly narrow scope of the four options the council used for consulting us.

Please also take petition sheets away with you and get it filled by clubs, schools, playgroups, neighbours. You can also print out your own copies of the petition.
