How you can help

We must act to save our pool. There are several ways that you can help save the pool—and everyone’s view counts.

Remember to fill in the feedback sheet and return it to either your local library or Monash Council by 26^th of February 2007.

Monash Council voted to have no pool in Oakleigh. Council needs to be convinced that Oakleigh needs its pool. Email, ring and write to these Councillors to let them know how you feel.

Attend a Council meeting

Council meets every third Tuesday at the Civic Centre. Attend a meeting and ask why Council is intent on getting rid of the pool.

Further details: Questions to Council are answered near the beginning of the meeting. The questioner must be present to receive an answer (questions can be read out by the questioner or by Council). Questions must be delivered to Council by noon on the Monday before the meeting.

Questions may be delivered by hand to the Civic Centre—place in the box near the Reception counter on the ground floor. Alternatively, fax them to 9518 3444 or post them to Council’s Governance Co-ordinator:

Show blue for the pool

Display a blue ribbon or bag outside your house (and car!) to show your support for the Oakleigh pool.

Remember that Melbourne’s weather is notoriously unpredictable, so be careful that your bag or ribbon doesn’t blow away in a sudden gust of wind.
