Melbourne Pool Alliance
Skip to menu| The Melbourne Pool Alliance is now in full swing. The idea behind the alliance as many of you know is to lobby the State Government for changes to the better Pool Funding model so that communities like Oakleigh, Sunshine, Footscray etc are entitled to receive funding from the State Government for proper repair or replacement to our community swimming pools. Sunshine, Oakleigh and Footscray should all be treated as special case pool funding areas and the Government should step in and repair/replace/upgrade our pools instead of seeing them demolished because of the current funding model. The Melbourne Pool Alliance requires support of people in numbers turning up to events or for those that can't make it donations and/or letters of support etc would be terrific. The 1st event is this saturday morning at the Grand Final breakfast where submissions will be made by each community to Steve Bracks and other attending dignitaries. Time: 6.45 am. (early!) Date: Saturday 30th September Location: Melbourne Exhibition Centre (Jeff's Shed) (Just over the river from the corner of Spencer and Flinders Street) For full information and to subscribe to the Melbourne Pools Alliance mailing list visit: http://www.melbournepools.com/ | Pool guy |
| Attention Oakleigh residents.Take it from us out here in Sunshine not to believe the lies and spin from council and government until your pool is saved and swimming is going on.We've seen it all and heard it all for 14 years..promises from Maddern, our local member Mildenhall,Bracks,Telmo our federal member, local councillors, unions, our mayor etc,etc,etc......Don't believe or trust any of them until your pool is saved.Stick with the Alliance as strength in numbers may be our only hope. And please roll up on Grand Final Day and send a message to Bracks and Maddern that Oakleigh will not be crapped allover by this rotten government. | bonavena |
